What motivated you to produce a podcast on this topic?
This is also the subject of my book, Rainbows Over Ruins. As a survivor of a disaster myself, I have found techniques that enable us to not only survive, but to improve our lives after a negative experience of this magnitude. I want to share this and a podcast has the potential to do this well.
How would you describe your ideal listener?
An ideal listener is someone who has experienced great loss in some aspect of their lives and is searching for a means to rebuild and even improve their lives. They have had some success, thus the pain of loss is palpable. They have been blindsided by an event, but need a helping hand to help them focus on what they want their new life to look like. Age 28-74; predominantly female, used to an income between 40,000 – 300,000. They have been married, if not so currently. They have a great capacity for creativity and like to throw themselves into whatever they choose to do.
What are you enjoying most about Podcasting?
I get to discuss my favorite topics. It’s very creative.
What is your biggest tip for new podcasters?
Dive in! This is really a case where imperfect action is better than no action at all. We get better. We improve our technical skills. We learn to ask better questions and interact with our guests in better ways. Just do it!
